We are an experimental atomic physics and quantum information group. Our research uses arrays of individually controlled neutral atoms to build and study the foundations of scalable, fault-tolerant quantum computing.
Neutral atom arrays offer a powerful platform for quantum information processing. In the Zhang Lab, we develop quantum processors from individually controlled atoms and study the science and technology needed to scale them up.
We explore questions ranging from the atomic physics of the qubits and robust quantum control to error-correction protocols and scalable system architectures. By co-designing the hardware and the error-correction strategy, we aim to advance neutral-atom quantum computers from small-scale demonstrations to reliable, large-scale, fault-tolerant machines.
